The Ministry of Finance (MOF) and KfW signed a German Promotional Loan agreement on the water environment improvement project in Baofeng county of Central China’s Henan province on December 1, 2022.

 

The project includes the construction of wastewater treatment plants and the associated sewage pipeline networks, as well as a set of smart water systems in the cities Daying and Zhangbaqiao. It has a total investment of 348 million yuan, of which 35 million euros come from KfW's German Promotional Loan with a term of 15 years, including a grace period of five years.

 

Upon completion, the project will further enhance environmental protection for rivers in the county’s urban area, improve urban and rural living conditions, and promote sustainable economic development.
