Director-General WangZhongjing attends 57th GEF Council meeting

A delegation led by Wang Zhongjing, Director-General of the Center for Evaluation of World Bank Loan Projects, the Ministry of Finance, attended the 57th meeting of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council on December17-19, 2019 in Washington D.C., USA.

The meeting reviewed the GEF Monitoring Report 2019, the updated policyon minimum fiduciary standards for GEF agencies, and the revised Private Sector Engagement Strategy, and endorsed the methodologyapproach for post-completionverification as well as other policies. The Council also approved the Work Program comprising 53projects that involve a total funding of $589 million, including three projects in China.

During the GEF Council meeting, Wang Zhongjing also met with Naoko Ishii, the CEO of GEF,Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank’s Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific,and CeylaPazarbasioglu, the Vice President for Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions (EFI) of the World Bank, andhead of the UNDP-GEF Unit.
