The Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a loan agreement for the ecological rehabilitation and protection project along the Silk Road on December 19, 2022.

 

The loan totals 196.215 million euros with a term of 25 years, including a grace period of six years.

 

The project aims to enhance ecological resilience and diversification of rural livelihoods in regions along the Silk Road, such as Gansu, Qinghai and Shaanxi.

 

The project's outputs include strengthening knowledge on sustainable forest and wetland management, protecting and rehabilitating forests and wetlands, and enhancing multifunctional ecosystem services and environmental education.
