On November 14, 2022, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the New Development Bank (NDB) signed a loan agreement for Xi'an Xianyang International Airport Phase-III Expansion Project. 

 

The loan totals 805 million yuan with a term of 30 years, including a grace period of 6 years. 

 

It will be used to support the construction of new airport runways, parking aprons and terminals, as well as supporting infrastructure construction, the project involves expansion of the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport to address capacity constraints.

 

After expansion, the Xi’an Xianyang International Airport will have a design capacity to support annual passenger throughput of 83 million, cargo throughput of 1 million tonnes and flight movements of 594,000.
