MOF, the World Bank Hold International Seminar on Promoting Realization of China's “Dual Carbon” Goals

A virtual seminar themed on "Mobilizing International Cooperation Resources to promoting realization of China’s ‘Dual Carbon’ Goal through Learning from International Experiences" was co-hosted by the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation of Ministry of Finance (MOF), PRC. and the World Bank on October 28. Mr.Lu Jin Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation and the Executive Leader of the MOF’s Expert Studio on International Economic and Financial Affairs from the Department, and Mr.Alejandro Alcala-Gerez, Operations Manager, World Bank Beijing Office, addressed the opening ceremony, respectively. Ms.Xu Li, Director of the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation of MOF and the Expert Studio’s Direct Lead from the Department, chaired the meeting. 
 
Nearly 100 people, including experts from the World Bank, International Finance Corporation, University of London and related agencies, as well as members of the “Dual Carbon” research team of the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation of the MOF, and representatives from the provincial-level finance departments of Henan, Hubei, Sichuan and Qinghai participated in the meeting.The seminar focused on discussion of low-carbon transformation, green finance, green supply chains, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms designed by EU and related issues, and the experts put forward suggestions and recommendations on how to achieve China's "dual carbon" goals.
