Li Hongxia, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Economic and Financial Cooperation of China's Ministry of Finance and GEF Council Member for China, attended the meeting and announced China's pledge to GEF-8. 

China has actively participated in previous GEF-8 Replenishment meetings and policy discussions, and worked with all parties to reach consensus on the GEF-8 replenishment package and policy framework, so as to enhance the GEF's role in living in harmony with nature and supporting developing countries in addressing the global climate and environmental challenges.
