MOF successfully issues 6 billion yuan RMB-denominated treasury bonds in Hong Kong

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) issued 6 billion yuan ($941 million) worth of RMB-denominated treasury bonds to institutional investors through tendering in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Nov 17, its third issuance of the bonds this year.

With this batch, the ministry has accomplished its task of issuing 20 billion yuan worth of the treasury bonds in 2021.

Institutional investors actively responded to the offering, with their total subscription amount reaching 19.758 billion yuan, 3.3 times of the issuance amount.

The 6 billion yuan treasury bond issuance included the 2-year tranche of 3 billion yuan with an issuance price of 99.93 yuan, equivalent to a yield of 2.4480 percent; the 5-year tranche of 2 billion yuan with an issuance price of 99.32 yuan, equivalent to a yield of 2.6497 percent; and the 10-year tranche of 1 billion yuan with an issuance price of 111.35 yuan, equivalent to a yield of 2.8447 percent.
