Liao Min Attends ASEAN+3 Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Ad Hoc Meeting via Video

The ASEAN+3 Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Ad Hoc Meeting was held on 28 April via video. The meeting discussed the impact of the prolonged Iran conflict on global and regional economy and members policy responses. China’s Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min attended the meeting. 

China MOF noted that the Iran conflict has posed severe challenges to regional economic growth and financial stability. It is necessary for ASEAN+3 members to deepen cooperation and promote the green transition and sustainable development. China stands ready to strengthen macroeconomic policy communication and coordination with regional members, fully seize the opportunities brought by the digital economy and green transition-driven growth, enhance regional economic resilience, and jointly address external risks and challenges.

China MOF also briefed on Chinese economic performance, highlighted that China will continue to advance high-quality development and high-level opening-up during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) period, vigorously increase domestic demand and boost consumption, further unlock the vitality and potential of China’s mega-market, share the opportunities and dividends of China’s development with the world, and promote the prosperity in the region.

All members agreed to continuously strengthen regional financial cooperation, enhance the regional financial safety net, maintain the stability and smooth operation of industrial and supply chains, and safeguard regional economic and financial stability.
