Liao Min Attends ASEAN+3 Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting via Video

The ASEAN+3 Finance and Central Bank Deputies’ Meeting was held on 8 April 2026 via video. The Meeting discussed the global and regional macroeconomic situation as well as ASEAN+3 financial cooperation issues. China’s Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min attended and spoke at the meeting.

Liao pointed out that amid multiple economic challenges,  ASEAN+3 members should uphold multilateralism, strengthen macroeconomic policy communication and coordination, further deepen regional financial cooperation, and safeguard regional economic and financial stability.

Liao also introduced Chinas 15th Five-Year Plan, which was deliberated and approved at the “Two Sessions” in March. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will continue to promote high-quality development and high-standard opening up, share "China Opportunities" with the world, and contribute to regional development and prosperity. China’s economy made a good start in 2026, the Chinese government will continue to implement more proactive fiscal policies, focus on expanding domestic demand and investing in people, and strive to achieve the expected growth targets.

The meeting also reviewed and endorsed relevant documents and work plans for the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), the Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralisation, the Asian Bond Markets Initiative, and the Disaster Risk Financing Initiative, etc.
