Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min met with Tai Kin Ip, Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao Special Administrative Region (Macao SAR), in Beijing on 21 May 2025.

The two sides discussed, among other topics, the current economic situation in Macao and the support for the development of its bond market.

Liao said the Ministry of Finance (MOF), in accordance with the decisions and plans of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, supports Macao in leveraging its unique advantages, integrating itself into and serving the country’s overall development strategy, and appropriately diversifying its economic development. He added that MOF will continue to provide full support for Macao to achieve greater progress.

Tai thanked the MOF for its long-standing policy support for Macao. He hoped that, with the support of the central government, Macao can further accelerate and improve the development of its bond market and better integrate into the country’s broader economic and financial development framework.
