Liao Min, Vice Minister of Finance, met with Julia Leung Fung-yee, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), in Beijing on 19 March 2025. The two sides exchanged views on serveral issues including the ways to deepen cooperation between the capital markets of The Mainland and Hong Kong.

Liao said that, in accordance with the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) has long been committed to firmly supporting the efforts to consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center.

The MOF will continue to support Hong Kong in promoting economic development, improving people’s livelihoods, and better integrating itself into the overall development of the country, Liao added.

Leung thanked MOF for its longstanding support for the development of Hong Kong’s capital market. She said that the SFC will continue to play an active role in promoting the coordinated development of capital markets in The Mainland and Hong Kong.
