Based on the consensus reached between Vice Premier and Chinese Lead Person for China-US economic and trade affairs HE Lifeng and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen during their meeting in Beijing in July, China-US Economic Working Group (EWG) held its first meeting online on October 24th. The meeting was chaired by deputy-ministerial level officials from China’s Ministry of Finance and the US Department of Treasury. The two sides have a substantive, frank and productive discussion on topics including domestic and global macroeconomic developments, bilateral economic relations, and cooperation on global challenges. The China side raised its concerns. The two sides will maintain communication.
