New Zealand Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson chaired virtually the 28th Finance Ministers' Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) on October 22, 2021. The attendees discussed the topics of strengthening the response to COVID-19 and promoting a sustainable and inclusive economic recovery, as well as addressing current challenges through fiscal policy and budget management. The meeting adopted the Joint Finance Ministerial Statement and endorsed the New Strategy for Implementation of the Cebu Action Plan. Vice Finance Minister Yu Weiping attended the meeting and delivered his speech via video link.
