In accordance with China’s pledge to grant zero tariff treatment to 97% tariff lines of the least developed countries which have established diplomatic relations with China, and based on the Exchange of Notes between the government of People’s Republic of China and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the special preferential tariff rates (zero tariff) shall apply to certain import goods originating in the People's Republic of Bangladesh, starting from July 1, 2020. 97% tariff lines refer to a total of 8,256 tariff lines including 5,161 tariff lines marked as LD, 2,911 tariff lines marked as LD1 and 184 tariff lines marked as LD2, as specified in the column of Special Preferential Tariff Rate of Customs Tariff of Import and Export of the People's Republic of China (2020) (Announcement No. 9 [2019], Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council).
