The Second “Belt and Road” National Accounting Standards Communiqué

The Second “Belt and Road” National Accounting Standards Cooperation Forum was held in the mode of a video conference on 3 November 2020, with the main venue set in Xiamen, China.

Delegates

Attendees included delegates from National Accounting Council of Cambodia, Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Finance of Laos, Mongolian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Accounting Standards Board of Nepal, External Reporting Board of New Zealand, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, Ministry of Finance of Russian Federation, Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants, and Ministry of Finance of Vietnam.

 

The forum provides a platform for discussing accounting issues under the influence of Covid-19, sharing experience on accounting standards implementation, discussing the website construction and further cooperation plan of the forum. The discussion manifests the participants’ joint efforts to cope with the new challenges in accounting field and explore the globalization approach of accounting standards, so as to create a good accounting environment for economic and trade exchanges and capital flows among the participants of the Belt and Road Initiative.

l   Experience sharing on the implementation of accounting standards

l   “The Belt and Road” National Accounting Standards Cooperation Forum website construction

l   Future cooperation and meeting arrangement

Next meeting

The third Cooperation Forum is planned to be held in Islamabad, Pakistan in October 2021. If there is still travel restriction due to covid-19, the third Cooperation Forum can be held remotely.
